Eight Antiquarian Leather Books, Including Manuscript Family Record of Salem Witches [Rare Book - Fine Binding - Moulton]

A group of eight antiquarian volumes in leather bindings, including the Moulton family manuscript family record and works on genealogy, heraldry, literature, and religious studies. Comprising the following:

1. Moulton Family Records by John C. Moulton. Lynn, Massachusetts, 1873. Manuscript family record. Bound in full leather, spine with raised bands and gilt lettering. A fully manuscript genealogical record of the Moulton family, including an extended introductory section preserving family reminiscences from the author's father and great-grandmother regarding witchcraft in Salem.

2. Gravestones of Acadia, and Other Records of Annapolis County, Nova Scotia by William Inglis Morse. London: A. Smith & Co., 1929. Limited edition, this copy no. 76 of 500. Bound in quarter leather, the spine with raised bands and gilt lettering.

3. Moral Emblems by Jacob Cats and Robert Farlie. Third edition. London: Longmans, Green, Reader, and Dyer, 1865. Bound in full leather, spine with raised bands and gilt decoration.

4. An Introduction to Heraldry by Hugh Clark. Sixteenth edition. London: Bell and Daldy, 1859. Bound in full leather, spine with raised bands and gilt decoration. With armorial bookplate of Cornelius Walford on the front pastedown.

5. The Comedies of Aristophanes by Aristophanes, translated by William James Hickie. Vol. I. London: Henry G. Bohn, York Street, Covent Garden, 1882. Bound in limp red leather.

6. Mishnah, Order of Kodashim. Warsaw, 1853. Bound in full leather. With bookplate of the Hebrew Teachers College on the rear pastedown.

7. Post Mortem: Essays, Historical and Medical by C. MacLaurin. New York: George H. Doran Company, ca. 1922. Bound in full leather, spine with raised bands and gilt lettering.
