Japanese Woodblock Print of Tattooed Hero by Utagawa Kuniyoshi

An oban tate-e print from the series "One of the 108 Heroes of the Popular Water Margin" by Utagawa Kuniyoshi (1797-1861), Japan, ca. 1830. Depicting Xue Yong (right) and the tattooed Mu Chun (left) fighting barehanded. Published by Kagaya Kichizaemon, censor's seal, signed Ichiyusai Kuniyoshi ga. Professionally framed with UV-protective glass.

  • Condition: Edge wear, staining in top left, small surface abrasion on left side, fold line in middle.
