WWI Photo Album Scrapbooks, 11th Field Artillery US Army [Military]

Collection of photograph albums and related material belonging to Private John F. Farrell of Salem, Massachusetts, documenting his service during World War I. Included is an album titled "Memorabilia and Assorted Photos from France, 1918–1919," containing approximately [37] items, including photographs, documents, newspaper clippings, calling cards, and related ephemera; a second album comprising more than [200] printed military and souvenir postcards, many with manuscript notes on the versos, recording Farrell's time in France; and a third album rehousing pages and individual photographs from a period album, containing approximately [90] photographs of wartime scenes with captions in the negatives, together with several snapshots of Farrell and members of his company. Also included are Farrell's Honorable Discharge papers in an embossed leather cover and two copies of The 11th Field Artillery, a scarce regimental history published in Dijon, France, in 1919.
