WWII US Army Nurse Photograph Album and Scrapbook [Military - Texas - Stradivarius - Medical]

Photo-scrapbook belonging to Lieutenant (Medical Corps) Helen E. Elgosin (1917-1973), documenting her service as a U.S. Army nurse during World War II. Elgosin was stationed at Camp Fannin, Texas, from 1943 to 1946, and the majority of the contents relate to her time there. Included are dozens of candid snapshots depicting daily life at the camp, along with letters and postcards from fellow service members, programs from camp shows and theatrical productions, and a small autographed program for violinist David Rubinoff, die-cut in the shape of his Stradivarius violin. Cover embossed with military imagery, including an army tank, battleship, and other patriotic motifs.

Together with a second photograph album belonging to her brother, Dr. Emid Elgosin, a lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Army Medical Corps, containing over 100 snapshots documenting his time at the University of New Hampshire and his military service.
