Archive of Pharmacist Trade Catalogues, Medicines, Ledgers, and More [Apothecary - Drugs - New Old Stock]

Large and varied group of pharmaceutical and medical material from druggist Frederick J. Lewis (1859–1901), Newport, New Hampshire, dating from 1890 to 1900. The collection includes ledgers, trade catalogs, medical supplies, and related ephemera.

Comprising six manuscript journals and account books maintained by Lewis, documenting customer purchases, some with letters and handwritten bills tipped in. Also included are invoice ledgers containing hundreds of billheads for beer and spirits, cigars, medicines, soda fountain materials, and other goods purchased for inventory.

Further including approximately twenty [20] pieces of new old stock medicines from firms such as Humphrey's Homeopathic Medicine Co.; S.W. Gould & Bros.; McKesson & Robbins; Cheney & Myrick; and S.B. Pence & Co.

Printed catalogs include 1890 and 1898 price lists for Whitall, Tatum & Co.; Druggist Circular (1897); 1893 and 1896 price lists for Parks, Davis & Co., Manufacturing Chemists; Quiz-Compends, Pharmacy by Prof. Stewart (1888); Otis, Clapp & Son's Catalogue and Physicians' Current (three issues, circa 1885); Tyrian Rubber Goods (circa 1890); Kilner's Modern Pharmacy supplements (1880); and Latin Titles for Druggists' Shop Furniture / Labels (1887).
